CEO, Artist, Entrepreneur, Grustla, Innovator, Motivator. His love for music, isn’t just about the money . Superstar Guess was born in Dallas, Texas, but his roots are in Mexico. His mother and father came to the U.S. to give their 5 children a better future. But Guess learned what it means to work for a living Working construction at the tender age of 8 during the summers off from school. It didn’t take long for him to realize that he didn’t want to work construction for the rest of his life and by age 9 his dream of becoming a rap artist began to take shape.
But the streets had other plans for Guess. The tough streets of Pleasant Grove and gang-life became a part of his life. This would be a crucial turning point, one that would propel him into a world of violence and imprisonment and eventually back to the music. Guess knew that gangs were not going to help him be a successful recording artist and businessman, so he finished school and graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in 2001...
Guess also graduated from the streets and wanted to give back to his family and community - so he started Fhat City records in April 2007. 'Ima Pimp” featuring Big Tuck was released shortly thereafter with another hit single "Top Notch Dimes” featuring Lil Will. Though his songs are filled with gang-type stories and situations - he isn’t glorifying the streets or the dangerous life they can lead to. Instead he hopes to be able to reach out to a younger generation and help them realize through his own bad experiences, that the streets are gang life is no way to grow and become a better person, but rather to stay in school, get an education and aspire to be someone better.
Fhat City Records supports other artists and welcomes them with a different philosophy than other independent labels. That philosophy is to keep it whole, keep it real and give back - pushing himself with his street team, promoting the albums to open the door for other Latin artists. He's also been doing shows all over Texas and collaborates with artists and producers such as Young Bleed, Play N Skill, SPM, Big Tuck, Justbeatz, Jamie "PAIN Ortiz, Juan Gotti, Lucky Luciano, Lil will, Rasheed, Young Black and more.
